Old Olympic Highway is a major East-West Route between Port Angeles and Sequim and is the only alternate route to US101 in the area.

The section has been upgraded to current safety standards, although the surface has deteriorated and now has patching, cracking and several areas of crack sealing. This project will provide for pavement repair, an HMA overlay, and pavement markings.

The deteriorated HMA in the travel lanes was removed by planing and replaced with 2" deep HMA and a 1.5" HMA overlay was performed on the entire 40' roadway width. New pavement markings and recessed pavement markers were placed. Clallam County has had numerous positive comments on the road improvement.
