Martin Road is the only thru-route within the Columbia Basin Irrigation Project between Ephrata and Quincy north of SR 28.
The road parallels a lateral canal and is a continuous series of curves, is narrow and subject to seasonal weight restrictions.
The project resurfaced the road with a new class A BST, crushed surfacing was added to improve the load carrying capacity, road was widened, curves improved and a bridge was replaced and widened.
