Project Number: 1208
From milepost 3 to milepost 4
RATA Funds: $750,000
Legislative District: 18

Date Approved: 2006
South Silver Lake Road is an arterial road that links Interstate 5 and State Route 504 and provides for timber and rock hauling in addition to rural residential uses. There is also a landfill on South Silver Lake Road within 2 miles of the end of the current project.

Deficiencies included a substandard road width of 22', inadequate sight distance at vertical and horizontal curves and a confusing alignment at the intersections of South Silver Lake Road, Davis Spur Road and Headquarters Road.

The roadway, milepost 2.85 to milepost 4.0 was widened to 36' wide to include 2 12' wide lanes and 2 6' wide shoulders. Substandard horizontal and vertical curves were reconstructed to improve the sight distance. The intersections at Headquarters Road/Davis Spur/South Silver Lake were revised to improved sight distance and alignment. The construction went very well, with positive feedback from several of the residents regarding the Contractor's work.
