Center Road is a regionally significant road which connects the Chimacum Tri-Area UGA with unincorporated Quilcene community in Jefferson County. This rural major collector serves high levels of traffic and provides a direct route to the Hood Canal area HWY101 leading to Mason County communities, the Olympia Area and via SR-104 the Kitsap County communities. Posted speed is 55 MPH and paved shoulders are 8-feet wide to a 11-foot travel lane. BST cracking and rutting have been maintained with patching and sealants. This request for RAP funds was anticipated in the 2020-2025 adopted TIP for Jefferson County. The scope of work fits within a 2R construction definition to restore the BST pavement surface while maintaining the 8-foot ACP shoulders (no widening).
