This road segment is part of the Flowery Trail route that connects the Cusick/Usk area in Pend Oreille County with the Chewlah area in Stevens County. The route connects timber mills with the timber producing forests. It provides service to the Forty Nine Degrees North destination winter recreation area. The major deficiency is the frost susceptible pavement structure. A series of completed or funded projects will provide a all weather route between the intersection of flowery Trail with Westside Calispel Road to State Highway 395 in Chewelah. Completion of this project and the proposed Westside Calispel project will complete the all weather road connection between State Highway 20 and State Highway 395. The proposed project will construct an all weather pavement structure.
