The primary purpose, focus and benefit of this project is highway safety. Major users of the roadway include recreationalists (beach access, boating, camping, fishing, hunting, hiking), Dam and Fish Facility workers and contractors, river crossing traffic, tourists and farm to market. This project includes horizontal curve correction(super elevation adjustment and minor curve flattening), drainage repair, pavement patching/repair, Bituminous Surface Treatment or HMA if funds allow, Cement Recycled Asphalt Base (CRAB), seal coat, guardrail, slope flattening, culvert end treatments, fixed object removal, run-away truck ramp construction, signing, striping and delineation. The proposed improvements will bring the roadway up to and/or exceed current design standards for 2R (Restoration and Rehabilitation) projects with a major emphasis on Safety.
