Exciting news! Our GIS-Mo Asset Management System is getting an upgrade for 2025.
What's Been Happening?
GIS-Mo is one of the most unique, complex and sophisticated transportation asset management systems available, which makes finding community solutions to issues a challenge. However, our IT Division overcame these obstacles to successfully plan, prepare for, and execute the challenging and complex upgrade of our core GIS-Mo systems, ESRI and VUEWorks. We are excited to have made this significant progress in moving our technological infrastructure into the current generation.
What's New?
In this first major upgrade since GIS-Mo was implemented in 2021, we’ve successfully completed major updates to both the GIS-Mo ESRI and VUEWorks software suites.
The new "day one" features include:
- Report Collaborations
- Overhauled Map Symbology
- Pinnacle ESRI Learning Path Release (shortly after successful upgrade)
- Improved IT Security posture
Want to Learn More?
We have a variety of training opportunities available through our Learning Management System and both virtual and in-person trainings.
I'd also encourage you to sign up for emails for our weekly Open Support Hour and our GIS-Mo Monthly Forum here; it's an excellent way to learn more about the existing features of GIS-Mo and allow you to participate in the stakeholders group for guiding future features.
Now that we have a stable infrastructure for many years to come, our IT and Engineering Divisions will continue to work with our partners and county road departments to improve the services and features provided through GIS-Mo. Existing projects include expanding VUEWorks Pavement Management System, implementing Systemic Safety Project Selection (now Safe System Approach), providing data pipelines for two-way integration and reporting (ex: FHWA MIRE), and more.
Congratulations and thank you to the whole team on this accomplishment!
