The latest developments, decisions and changes coming out of our winter board meeting, held in Olympia.

DEVELOPMENTS

 

  • Board Appointments

With the Departure of Franklin County Commissioner Brad Peck, the board welcomed Skagit County Commissioner Peter Browning in December 2023. His term runs through June 2025.

  • County Engineer Appointments

Island County appointed Ed Sewester, P.E. as County Engineer on November 27, 2023. John Becker, P.E. was appointed Grays Harbor County Engineer on January 17, 2024.

  • Vacancies

Two counties (Asotin and Pacific counties) have county engineer vacancies. Asotin County has a consulting firm providing interim county engineer support. Pacific County is in the process of contracting with a consulting firm to handle their P.E. services on a short-term basis while actively recruiting to fill the permanent position.

 

DECISIONS

 

  • Conditional Certificates of Good Practice

A conditional certificate was extended to Grays Harbor County through April 2024, at which time they’ll need to provide a status report to the Board.

  •  RATA Revenue Allocated to Regions

The board approved Resolution 2024-001, which authorized the accrued amount of $3,319,897 deposited to the RATA for October and November 2023 to be apportioned to the regions by the established 2023-2025 biennium regional percentages after setting aside $120,690 for administration.

 

CHANGES

 

  • 2023 Annual Report

This year the annual report was redesigned and went fully digital (100% electronic). It is now available on our website, and has been shared with the Joint Transportation Committee and all interested parties.   

 

COUNTY OVERVIEW & PROJECT PRESENTATIONS
