The McKinney Rd. is a North / South Minor Collector connecting rural and commercial to SR-26. The road is encompassed by irrigated farm land, rural residential and commercial aggregate suppliers. The road is a haul route to move products to market or storage, aggregate to projects and residential traffic. 39% of the ADT represents truck traffic.

The existing road had large areas of pavement distress with 11 foot driving lanes with minimal gravel and native material shoulders. Shoulders have eroded in places.

The roadbed was widened to 30 feet in width by grinding the existing pavement, widening the shoulders with existing base material mitigated roadside hazard, replaced drainage facilities where needed, modified side slopes, Cement Treated Base, and HMA surfacing.
