The Snake River Road is the only road on the north end of the Hell's Canyon Recreation Area as well as the only road for nearly 800 residents.
The old bridge at milepost 4.50 was a single lane cattle guard decked bridge that was structurally deficient.
A new bridge was constructed and the approaches were realigned.
