Kitsap - Seabeck Highway # 2

Project Number: 1816-01
From milepost 3.4 to milepost 4.92
RATA Funds: $1,800,000
Legislative District: 35
Status: Construction
Date Approved: 2016
Design Concept:

The design concept for this project follows 3-R standards consisting of resurfacing, restoration, and rehabilitation of the existing roadway. No additional travel lanes will be constructed with this project, therefore no increase in capacity will occur.

Considerations:
1. To the maximum extent possible, improvements should be constructed within the existing right-of-way to minimize property acquisition
expenditures.
2. Considerations should be given to the design and construction of improved stormwater facilities to minimize impacts to adjoining property
owners.
3. Considerations should be given to limit the environmental impacts caused by the project.

The Seabeck Highway #2 project is a widening and resurfacing project. The improvement project begins southerly at the intersection of Gross Road, then continues northwesterly for 1.64 miles to the intersection of Newberry Hill Road. The project will improve conditions for vehicles, bicyclists, and pedestrians by widening Seabeck Highway to (2) twelve foot lanes with (2) eight foot shoulders (6 feet paved and two feet gravel). Drainage improvements will likely consist of both open and closed stormwater conveyance systems as well as runoff treatment facilities designed in accordance with current stormwater management manuals.
