Hume Road links State Route 27 just south of the Town of Oakesdale and U.S. Hwy. 195 near the City of Colfax. This route is highly used by agricultural traffic during harvest season, and is also a popular commute route from the Northeast portion of Whitman County. This section of Hume Road was originally built on poor soils and is showing signs of subgrade failure. This project will address the subgrade failure by use of an "all weather" roadway section. The project will also widen and resurface as well as address clear zone hazards. Work will include widening, grading, drainage, and surfacing.
