Center Road extends from Chimacum to Quilcene and is the primary access between the population centers in the northeastern portion of the county and southeastern section of the county along the Hood Canal.
Failure of underlying asphalt layers was allowing the heavy traffic to rut the pavement creating an asphaly ridge between the wheel tracks.
most of the asphalt was removed (7-8 inches) and replaced with a new base leveling course and 5" of new asphalt.
