This roadway is a 32' wide rural major collector and is classified as a T3 Truck Route with an ADT of 2,603 vpd. Brooks Road does not meet current rural arterial design standards for Spokane County. The project proposes to add 6' wide shoulders for a total width of 36', and construct a cement- treated base with an asphalt surface.
The road is a significant arterial roadway connecting smaller urban and rural development areas in west Spokane County to routes of statewide significance such as US-2 and SR-904 and connection to local roads. The corridor serves a multitude of users including local freight, agricultural, commercial, industrial, commuter and recreational. If funded, this project would complete an approximate 4-mile arterial link between the City of Medical Lake Corporate Limits (SR 902) and US-2. Federal funding, STP (R), has been awarded for Brooks Road from MP 0.00 to MP 1.87 with construction expected in 2019.
