The project extends the roadway profile from a previously completed CRAB project at the intersection of Olson DR KPN/Key Peninsula Hwy KPN.
The existing lane widths vary in width and are usually covered in gravel spewed from the adjoining properties. The existing lanes are predominately narrower than 12 feet wide and the invariable loose gravel on asphalt can be a travel hazard and/or property damage issue. Funding our request will produce two-12 foot lanes, two-4 foot paved shoulders, two-6 foot concrete sidewalks, and a storm drainage system. The driving lanes will be wider, consistently the same width, and should be gravel free due to concrete driveway approaches and sidewalks. The driving experience will be more predictable (safer) and the character of the new roadway will reflect its functional classification while promoting the economic and social development of Key Center.
The final product will obtain the communities vision of promoting a small town center that is a socially connected community within a rural landscape.
