CRAB Training Programs

CRAB has offered training to Washington State Counties since the agency's inception. CRAB provides training for County Engineers and Public Works Directors twice annually. The CRAB Design Systems Engineer provides technical training in civil design software and Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) operations. The CRAB Mobility Team provides training in the use of the agency's flagship product, Mobility© to help counties meet compliance requirements. CRAB is tasked with providing counties with software, training, and support (RCW 36.78.020).

County Engineer Training

Classes are offered in May and December. The agenda includes:

Design Systems Training

Classes are offered throughout the year. Class offerings include:

  • AutoCAD Civil3D for Engineers
  • AutoCAD Civil3D for Surveyors
  • InfraWorks 360 Training
  • UAS (aka Drone) Pilot Training

GIS-Mo Training

GIS-Mo preliminary training is conducted throughout the year. County Road Log managers and one additional county staff can attend.

Class offerings include:

  • Road Log using ESRI Roads & Highways
  • Asset Management using DTS VUEWorks
    • Pavement Management
    • Reporting
    • Work Orders

Mobility Training

We no longer offer Mobility Training sessions. We continue to support Mobility as usual. We can conduct a remote session for a refresher on most topics including:

  • Mobililty Fundamentals and Reporting
  • Road Log and Inventories
  • Pavement Management System
  • VisRate and Pavement Rating
  • Systemic Safety System
