VisRate 4.1.0 Pavement Rating Software

The CRAB Mobility Team is happy to announce the release of VisRate 4.1.0 on October 23, 2012. VisRate 4.1 is a program for collecting visual pavement distress data. VisRate 4.1.0 software calculates distresses using the Option A method from the Pavement Surface Condition Field Rating Manual for Asphalt Pavements.

Distresses for user-defined segments of pavement are recorded and saved in a local database. Users download Mobility data into VisRate from within VisRate 4.1 and use the data for conducting pavement ratings. Users can connect a laptop computer with a vehicle's Digital Measurement Instrument (DMI). The laptop synchronizes with and operates a Nite Star NS - 60 DMI as the vehicle moves down the road.

A DMI is not required to operate VisRate 4.1.0 software.

Download VisRate 4.1.0

Click the download button to get the VisRate.NETSetup zip file that includes VisRate and the .NET Framework 3.5 installation files. The latest version of the Microsoft.NET Framework 3.5 is required to run VisRate 4.0.0 Follow the installation steps below.

1. Save the existing VisRate.mdb file to a different folder if needed.
2. Go to the Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel and remove any previous version of VisRate.
3. In the control panel, check the list of currently installed programs for Microsoft.NET Framework 3.5. If needed, install the Microsoft.NET Framework 3.5 included in the download package.
4. Click the download button above and then click Save to save it to your computer.
5. Double-click the VisRate4-1.zip to open it and then open the VisRate4 folder.
6. Double-click the VisRate.NETSetup.msi file to install the application.
7. Follow the installation wizard.

A copy of the NET Framework 3.5 is provided in event you need to install it to use VisRate 4.1.0.

Surface Condition Ratings - Import Schema

For those counties who use their own software or a consultants software to collect surface condition ratings: The collected data needs to be in the correct format in order to import into Mobility's Surface Condition Inventory. The fields need to meet criteria listed in the Surface Condition Import Schema download. Click the link below to download the Import Schema and save it to your computer.

This download contains an Excel workbook with the three worksheets listed below.

1. Readme Instructions -ensure you read this first.
   
2. Surface Condition Ratings Import Schema worksheet contains:
   • a. Field names
   • b. Data types
   • c. Lengths
   • d. Fields with restricted allowable input.
3. Surface Condition worksheet contains all required fields in an Excel format with the appropriate order and field names for CRAB to import into Mobility.
