Joint Road Maintenance Program for NMFS -

In January 2002, twenty-five Washington State jurisdictions (including WSDOT) formally submitted a joint routine road maintenance program to the National Marine Fisheries Service (NOAA Fisheries) for approval under Limit 10 of the Endangered Species Act (ESA) section 4(d) rule. The Regional Road Maintenance ESA Program Guidelines (Regional Program) describes physical, structural, and managerial best management practices designed so that when they are used, singularly or in combination, they reduce road maintenance activities’ impacts on water and habitat. A Biological Opinion was issued on August 15, 2003 and the Regional Program was adopted by NMFS. Adoption of the Regional Program granted a removal of the prohibition of take, under the NOAA Fisheries 4(d) rule, to twenty-five Washington jurisdictions (including WSDOT). Mobility Pilot Project begins -

With the cooperation and participation of a handful of counties, CRAB began a pilot project of the new Mobility application. This close ended test period is an effort to solidify design and operational questions of the new CRIS replacement application.
We will soon be readying ourselves for the next phase which will be a true Beta Testing iteration. In this we will expand the number of sites accessing the new Mobility and be much more focused on problem reporting and solving. Stay tuned for updates to come.
