Strategic Freight Transportation Analysis (SFTA)

Through the School of Economic Sciences at Washington State University, the overall purpose of SFTA is to strategically maximize the efficiencies and benefits available from the multimodal transportation system, within Washington, in moving freight. The web-link for SFTA is http://www.sfta.wsu.edu/index.htm.

As a part of joint research efforts, the report entitled "All Weather Road Projects for the State of Washington: A GIS Application/Analysis" (SFTA Research Report # 23) was completed in September of 2007. The primary objective of this study is to collect and organize information from individual counties throughout Washington State such that system-wide freight mobility issues or transportation system inefficiencies from county to county may be better identified and addressed.

The county project information presented in the report are the priority projects submitted to CRAB from each of the 39 counties. Download a copy of the final report.

CRAB point of contact is Walt Olsen P.E., Deputy Director - 360.664-3299 ext.231.
